To simply summarize it, the HP Officejet Pro 8600 provides a well balance of paper handling, output quality, MFP features, performance speed, price, and operating cost. It is the printing utility from HP that allows you to send document to the printer from connected device through email. Beside the AirPrint, the users are able to use ePrint feature as well. If you choose to connect your device to the printer using wireless network, the AirPrint feature is available, which enables you to print directly without extra application from your iOS device. There is the direct USB connection using USB cable, and network setup like Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections. The connectivity options are not bad, but not impressive either. However, it is necessary to mention that the generated output is water resistant and it barely smudges if you wipe it using wet tissue. Photos output using photo paper also looks quite like a low-end result from drug store printer. While text comes out better than inkjet printer and here won’t be any trouble to yield text prints for different business needs, it produces below par graphic output. Unfortunately, an absolute praise cannot be given for its output quality. Its printing speed rates at 20 page per minutes (ppm) for monochrome page and 16 ppm for multicolor page. The HP Officejet Pro 8600 uses individual ink cartridge. That being said, there is no duplexing feature available for the ADF, so original document cannot be scanned on both sides at once. This series offers automatic document feeder (ADF) up to 35-page. If your requirement is higher, then it’s possible to opt for additional tray that allows you of 500-sheet capacity. The main tray holds up to 250-sheet capacity with integrated print duplexer. The capability and operating cost of the HP Officejet Pro 8600 are fitting for small offices. The printer offer touch-screen display at 2.65”, which is quite small in comparison with other series. It executes printing, scanning, and faxing, as well as performs as independent fax and copier machine. It would be great to keep this thread updated as subsequent releases of OS 10.12 are released so that we can monitor when this problem is fixed. The standard features it carries aren’t surprising. Worth noting is that the HP Utility does provide a wealth of configuration and setup options. In case anyone is interested, the HP utility application includes EasyScan as part of its install in case someone was interested in a) obtaining the latest version of Easy Scan and/or b) trying both solutions.ĥ. Hopefully someone will post this enhanced / improved capability when it is made available.Ĥ. above, I hope that as subsequent releases of OS 10.12 fix this problem so that the scanning can be initiated from the Printer application / icon as it was in the past. above, it would be nice to be able to initiate a scan through the Printer application / icon rather than ImageCapture.ģ. I will however note that - and this through me for a loop initially - that initiating a scan from a laptop / pc is done through ImageCapture rather that the Printer application / icon.Ģ. Appreciate the assistance but no need to apply as I followed your instructions and now have it working.
